When you have a productive couple days, you must blog about it. As usual, I've been hitting the gym. My workouts have been pretty consistent this week. It feels amazing to finally have energy--I'll never slack that much again!
1 mile run
500 meter row (x2)
50 dumbbell side bends on each side (25 pound weight)
5o bicycle crunches
2 mile run
50 squats (30 pound weight)
-I was feeling sorta lazy today.
Today, I met a Harvard crew alumni who gave me advice on the rower. He also works in a local school district. We talked for at least 20 minutes about rowing, which was pretty awesome. I think that was partly the reason why I barely had a workout today... The older men and women at the USM gym are so friendly and talkative. They make the gym a comforting environment. Plus, I love talking to the older people. They like to give compliments :). Anyways, rowing is a hard workout, it makes your arms, legs, and throat burn but once you're done, you want to keep rowing. It's also fun to beat your own times.
Now to the food. I grilled the last of the vegetables that I had in the fridge and at them for breakfast and took the rest home. I've been getting great use out of my amazing Rachel Ray grill pan. Look at those grill marks! Among the veggies were sweet potatoes, broccoli, red peppers and red onions. All they needed were olive oil, salt and pepper.
So sad that one of my egg yolks broke when I was cracking it into the pan. Yolks are life :((( It still looks pretty dang good though.
My veggies survived the car ride back home to Massachusetts. I'm so happy to be home and see the kitties! My mom and I had a delicious dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. For dessert we snacked on Mom's Organic Munchies chocolate truffle cakes, which are paleo friendly, dairy free and gluten free. Totally not lacking flavor though. Holy crap those little cakes were good. Tomorrow we will be beach bums. I have vegetarian sushi, mango peach coconut water and GF coconut brownies from Whole Foods for lunch. Can't wait to bake in the sun. Hoping everyone has a relaxing evening and a fabulous weekend! Till next time.
