Do you ever have one of those days where you jump out of bed before your alarm and start being productive? Well, that was me yesterday. Woke up before my alarm, which I set for 8, got dressed, and went for a bike ride. I must admit, it was the first time that I rode my bike since November. I was a little rusty. My legs were exhausted afterwards, even though it was only for 3 miles. Looks like I will need to bike more often..
I felt like a turtle out there. I could barely pass by the runners. I didn't realize that I was caught in the middle of some sort of half marathon/5k until I started seeing herds of runners on the bike path. It was an interesting time.
After I slowly made my way back to the apartment, I got the sudden urge to clean. Not just any clean though. I vacuumed, moved every piece of furniture, Murphy Wood Oiled the hardwood floors, bleached the bathroom floors (and everything in it), and cleaned the entire kitchen from top to bottom. I even hung up pictures and paintings and moved some furniture around. Spring cleaning at its finest. There is truly nothing better than a clean apartment. I love the lingering smell of cleaning solutions as well.
^ thanks for the help.
I must say, after cleaning for a couple of hours, I worked up a sweat and an appetite. I didn't have my morning coffee so I also wanted to incorporate that into my breakfast. I made a coffee protein 'frappucino'.
Coffee Protein Frappucino
1 scoop Isopure espresso protein powder
1 & 1/4 cup almond milk
1 tbsp (or more) of instant espresso
-blend it up and enjoy this cold and frothy treat!
While I was enjoying my coffee 'frappucino', I meal prepped for the week. After looking at my work schedule, I realized that I work everyday until Thursday. This means that I have little time to make food in the mornings before I go to work. I decided to cook up some lunches for the week. Here's what I made. :)
Halved Trader Joe's garlic chicken sausages alongside steamed broccoli and peas. My kind of lunch!
After two shifts of work, here I am finally posting. Speaking of Trader Joe's, I went shopping after work today. My fridge and cabinets are more than content with my $50 spree. I got a LOT of goodies though, even got a couple extra snacks like some mac n cheese, popcorn, tortilla chips, and baking supplies. Indulgence is necessary for me. I love delicious snacks. I also love TJ's and how interesting and inexpensive their food is. Sorry hannaford.
I think I have enough food to last me an eternity, just kidding. Definitely a week though!
You bet I am eating that mac n cheese right now. With a hot dog too. Got a random 'kid food' craving. But like I said, indulgence is good.
