I've been using Origins skincare products since high school and I've never cared to try any other brand. Origins products are naturally derived, light, and not harsh on your skin. I'm fortunate to have normal skin, but sometimes it gets quite dry in the winter around my nose and upper lip. I take my skincare routine pretty seriously. I wash my face diligently, I tone my face 2 times a day, and I am very liberal with my lotions. I also make sure that I exfoliate once a or twice week to ensure that my skin is refreshed and brightened.
Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash: $22
You may be thinking to yourself "What kind of nutcase spends over $20 on face wash!?" This product certainly lasts a llllooooonnnnggg time, months and months to be exact. You only need a pea-sized amount because it suds up and washes everything away, including makeup. Checks and balances also has a luxurious minty scent which makes you feel like your pores are getting a deep cleanse.
Origins Modern Friction Nature's Gentle Dermabrasion: $39
This. Is. Worth. Every. Penny. I use this scrub year round, but especially in the winter when my face is drier than usual. Instead of plastic balls or those mystery beads that you find in other scrubs, Modern Friction uses rice. This scrub is powerful, yet gentle and doesn't make my skin red and irritated after I've used it. The best part, it leaves my skin feeling flawless and smooth.
Origins United State Balancing Tonic: $19
United State is my go-to product after I've taken a shower or washed my face. Even though Origins washes and cleansers do an amazing job washing off my makeup, United State blasts away at anything left on my skin deep in my pores. I put it on a cotton ball and swirl around my face, making sure that I get spots like my nose, forehead, hairline, and around my jawline and ears. This wipes away any imperfections and leaves my skin feeling tingly and refreshed!
Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer: $27.50
This lotion is the lightest, most effective moisturizer I've ever used. For years, I bounced around on drug-store lotions. Many left my face feeling tight, or too oily. This moisturizer glides onto my skin and smells amazing and citrus-y. The best part about this lotion is that I use it year round. In the summer I dab on spots that are prone to dryness- my forehead after a day in the sun. In the winter is use more on areas of dryness, like my nose and upper lip. It doesn't make my skin feel greasy, or shiny.
I understand that a lot of college students are on budgets, but I cannot picture myself buying cheap skincare products. There are much more expensive products on the market and Origins is sold at places like Sephora and also online at their website (they're always having online sales and you get free mini test products with your purchases). I also hyperlinked each product in the pictures above. I highly suggest looking into Origins cosmetics, because their products are the shit. There are also so many other products of theirs that I use..check them out below.
