As I was driving home from work earlier, I passed by a half dozen restaurants, all of which smelt of fragrant grilled meat. For the rest of my car ride, all I could think of was eating a juicy, medium rare burger. Not going to toot my horn or anything, but the burgers I just made were pretty darn good, yet simple.
1 pound 96/4 ground beef (meat with less fat tastes SO much better)
1/4 sweet onion
2 tbsp wostercer sauce
1 tbsp McCormick grill seasoning
Cook the onions till they take on color, mix with ground beef and seasonings. Form into patties and cook until perfection.
I sautéed mushrooms in the burger drippings so they took on the delicious meaty flavor.
As you can see, I'm pretty boring with my burgers. No bun. No cheese. Honestly, I'm trying to cut back on carbs and processed foods (mostly sugar) for the next few weeks in order to improve my health. Once I can get over cutting back on my sweet tooth, I think I'll feel much better, physically and mentally. For now, I must stick to eating lots of meats, veggies and small amounts of fruit. I'm hoping that this ales a difference.
For now, you won't be seeing many sweets on the blog. I think I've made plenty to satisfy many people's chocolate cravings though :)
