This weekend was one of the best weekends that I've had in a while! I'm so grateful to have a small group of amazing friends that I've had since high school. I'm even more grateful to have introduced them to a couple of great places in Portland! I've tried quite a few restaurants up here:
Caiola's (personal favorite)
Great Lost Beat (ugh...so....GOOD...)
Brea Lu Cafe
Bayside American Cafe
...The rest are in the blur of my mind right now, sorry folks.
Hot Suppa! Shrimp and cheesy grits with a savory gravy with mushrooms and peppers and pulled pork mac n cheese with crispy fried onions. This was my first time coming to hot suppa! Next time I go, I'm totally trying the chicken and waffles or that pulled pork mac n cheese. I love how the walls were covered in bright paintings that were for sale, super cute.
Gelato Fiasco GOD this is my favorite place......I got brownie batter and chocolate chip cookie dough gelato. My go-to flavor is the dark chocolate noir, but change is good (sometimes).
Bayside American Cafe If you live in Portland and haven't been to Bayside American Cafe, you are missing out...best home fries...best cinnamon bun pancakes, and best corned beef hash. Yes, that picture below is corned beef hash not that crappy soggy fake stuff that lots of restaurants sell. This was the real deal. Plus, this cafe is such a cozy, charming building and worth every penny of delicious breakfast-y goodness.
If you like food, Portland is the place to go to. As you can see, I'm in my heaven up here!
